Trio-Tronics Manufacturing UK Limited is an electronics manufacturing company supporting customers throughout the UK and Europe.
We are seeking an organised and proactive Materials Controller to manage inventory and support our production operations. This is a key role within the business, ensuring inventory accuracy, efficient material flow and the timely supply of components to production.
The Role
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day control of materials, inventory and stock within our manufacturing facility.
You will ensure that all materials are accurately received, stored, issued and recorded while maintaining a well-organised and efficient materials area.
This is a hands-on role requiring a combination of computer-based inventory management and practical warehouse duties, including receiving deliveries, moving materials, stock counting, and preparing and issuing materials to production.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect and process incoming deliveries.
- Verify deliveries against purchase orders and delivery documentation.
- Record all stock movements accurately within the ERP system.
- Label and store materials in designated locations.
- Prepare and issue materials to production.
- Monitor stock levels and identify material shortages.
- Carry out cycle counts and periodic stock audits.
- Investigate stock discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Process materials returned from production.
- Quarantine and report damaged or non-conforming materials.
- Maintain a clean, organised and audit-ready materials area.
- Work closely with Production, Quality Control and Management to support manufacturing activities.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and health and safety requirements.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in materials control, stock control, stores or inventory management.
- Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Experience using ERP, MRP or computerised stock-management systems.
- Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of the materials-control function.
- Right to work in the United Kingdom.
Desirable
- Electronics manufacturing experience.
- Experience with FIFO inventory control.
- Experience carrying out stock reconciliations and cycle counts.
- Forklift licence desirable, but not essential.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 or similar quality systems.
