Survival Systems International (SSI) is a leading provider of specialist marine, offshore and safety-critical equipment services to customers worldwide. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Workshop Manager to lead our workshop team and oversee refurbishment projects, workshop operations, equipment maintenance and technician development.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Directors, the Workshop Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the workshop facility, workshop technicians, refurbishment projects and associated resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, manage and monitor refurbishment projects.
- Lead and manage workshop technicians.
- Conduct toolbox talks and support QHSE compliance.
- Quality check completed work and documentation.
- Manage workshop equipment, tooling, vehicles and lifting equipment maintenance.
- Work closely with stores and parts departments.
- Support audits, training and recruitment activities.
- Maintain workshop organisation and housekeeping standards.
Skills & Experience Required
- Mechanical, marine engineering or heavy equipment maintenance background.
- Leadership and people management experience.
- Diesel engine diagnostic knowledge.
- Basic 12V electrical systems knowledge.
- Strong planning and project management capability.
- Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Commercial awareness and cost control experience.
Pay: £38,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
