The role of Buyer at Joseph Giles Ltd is an exciting and dynamic opportunity for anyone who likes to juggle many things at one time! Whilst the role is predominantly to achieve high levels of OTIF, the role also liaises with suppliers, and internal stakeholders at all levels. The Tactical Buyer is an integral role within the purchasing team and the person will manage specific categories in our supply chain.
Identifying requirements, placing, and expediting purchase orders and the first point of contact to advise and support sales and production. Handle any queries to a mutually agreeable solution. Involvement in tactical RFQs. Ability to use ERP data and maintain, proficient use of MS Microsoft in particular Excel.
Main point of escalation and responsible for bringing solutions to help delivering the client’s projects to the agreed deadlines.
The role will develop and grow with the ambitious growth plans of the business.
Role is 4 days a week office based and 1 day working from home
Hours are 7:30 - 4:30, Monday - Friday.
Holiday: 21 days, plus bank holidays and Christmas shutdown period

Key Skills and Knowledge:
- 5 years in a similar buying role
- Experience working in manufacturing environment (in particular machined/CNC metal components and various metal finishing processes) or in engineering, an advantage.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to all stakeholders
- Fast paced but accurate

- Excellent MS Software, Excel and ERP skills
