THE ROLE:
We are looking to engage in exploratory meetings for a Literary Agent / Head of Scripted Development to lead on writers within our scripted business, expanding InterTalent’s offering across television, film and theatre.
The agent will be responsible for growing their own roster of top-level writers, scripted formats and development slate, whilst also identifying and nurturing scripted opportunities for existing InterTalent clients.
We are open as to whether this is a senior leadership position suiting someone with a successful list, or suitable for an entrepreneurial junior agent from a top literary agency looking for more progression and opportunity.
The agent will be central to establishing InterTalent as a leading destination for exceptional writers and creatives, able to develop and package scripted projects in collaboration with our clients across every division at the company.
THE IDEAL APPLICANT WILL HAVE:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a literary agent or in a scripted development role at an established agency or production company.
A proven track record of representing writers and creative talent across television, film and/or theatre.
Strong existing relationships with commissioners, producers, development executives and/or theatres across the industry.
- Outstanding communication, editorial and organisational skills.
Deep specialist knowledge of the UK and international scripted landscape, whether within TV/Film, theatre, audio, books, comedy, animation or videogames
Experience and expertise in negotiating writer and development agreements, including WGGB, PACT and/or SOLT, UKT deals.
- A proven ability to attract, retain and champion exceptional creative talent.
Experience working with both established and emerging & diverse voices.
Demonstrable entrepreneurship, energy and ambition to build a new business vertical within a successful and established agency.
Enthusiasm for collaborating and building rapport with colleagues working in our Music, Unscripted, Creators, Comedy, Gaming & Sport businesses.
- Knowledge of Tagmin (preferred, but not essential).
