At Parallel Parents Ltd, we are dedicated to transforming the lives of vulnerable children and young people. Parallel Parents - Positive Steps Intervention - is our specialist crisis management service, delivering an initial 28 day programme, based around trauma-informed, high-impact support to young people experiencing emotional distress, and complex, challenging behaviors. We provide 24/7 care in single- and multi-occupancy settings, ensuring that no young person has to navigate a crisis alone.
The Role
As a Crisis Support Worker, you will be the steady, reassuring presence a vulnerable young person needs during their most critical moments. Operating as part of a crisis intervention team, you will deliver person-centered, trauma-informed care to help stabilize routines, manage high-risk behaviors, and advocate for positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Crisis Intervention & Stabilization: Provide immediate, trauma-informed support and deploy proactive de-escalation strategies during acute crises.
- Therapeutic Routine & Daily Living: Promote stability by assisting with daily routines, personal hygiene, meal preparation, educational pursuits, and constructive hobbies.
- Safeguarding & Risk Management: Uphold strict safeguarding standards, implement behavior support plans, and maintain a safe, healthy environment at all times.
- Detailed Reporting: Maintain clear, accurate, and prompt observational records and incident reports inline with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborative Liaison: Work alongside social workers, CAMHS, emergency services, and families to ensure a cohesive, wrap-around care plan.
About You
- Experience: Minimum 12 months of UK experience supporting vulnerable young people with trauma-related needs, complex behaviors, or in secure/residential settings.
- Training: Certified in the companies in house behaviour support and de-escalation techniques - training will be provided.
- Key Skills: High emotional resilience, exceptional de-escalation abilities, and a calm, compassionate demeanor under pressure.
- Requirements: Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) and any previous references for Care Work will need to be obtained.
- Driving: Full UK driving license and confident in driving a large vehicle such as a campervan
