Are you passionate about education and keen to support the success of young people in your community? The Kemnal Academies Trust (TKAT) is seeking enthusiastic, committed, and community-minded individuals to join the governing body at Gray’s Park Primary Academy.
What We're Looking For-
We are seeking committed people ready to learn and help shape the strategic direction of our schools. Previous experience as a school governor is not a prerequisite.
Your key qualities should include:
- A genuine interest in improving education outcomes.
- A willingness to dedicate time and energy (approximately 6-9 meetings/events per year).
- The ability to work as part of a team and ask challenging questions.
- A desire to learn and engage with comprehensive training.
- We welcome applications from all professional backgrounds; transferable skills in finance, HR, community engagement, or data analysis are highly valued.
School governors play a vital strategic role, acting as a critical friend to the headteacher and the school leadership team. As a member of a Local Governing Body (LGB) within TKAT, you will:
- Set the school’s vision and strategic direction.
- Hold the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils.
- Oversee the financial performance of the school and ensure its money is well spent.
- Represent the Academy’s local community and ensure the school's vision is relevant to their needs.
TKAT
TKAT is a Multi-Academy Trust and a registered charity. The Trust Board is accountable for the performance of all Academies, and it delegates key strategic and operational responsibilities to Local Governing Bodies (LGBs) at the individual school level.
