Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Ground Worker to join our team, specialising in landscape maintenance, construction, and horticultural tasks. This role involves working outdoors to support various projects including gardening, and general site upkeep. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical knowledge and experience with hand tools and power tools, contributing to the efficient operation and maintenance of equipment and sites. Responsibilities
- Assist with landscape maintenance tasks such as planting, pruning, mowing, and fertilising
- Operate and maintain power tools, hand tools, and construction equipment including excavators
- Support irrigation system installation, repair, and upkeep
- Conduct site preparation activities such as digging, trenching, and clearing debris
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery and tools to ensure safety and efficiency
- Assist with general construction tasks as directed by supervisors
- Follow health and safety protocols at all times during outdoor work activities
- Support horticultural projects by planting, watering, mulching, and caring for plants
Qualifications
- Previous experience in landscape maintenance, gardening or horticulture is desirable
- Mechanical knowledge related to machinery and equipment operation
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment such as excavators is advantageous
- Basic understanding of irrigation systems and site maintenance practices
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Physical fitness to perform manual labour including lifting and operating machinery safely
- A valid PERSON (or equivalent) certification is preferred but not essential
- Experience in construction or gardening will be considered a plus
