Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Barista and café server to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service and a can-do, positive attitude. We’re looking for someone who enjoys making coffee and loves being busy! We are a community-owned café in the heart of Charlbury, established for over 30 years and we are committed to paying the Real Living Wage. We are looking for new team members to help us serve our lovely customers with great coffee, delicious cakes, breakfasts and lunches.
Responsibilities include taking orders, preparing and serving drinks, delivering food to tables, clearing tables, washing up, keeping the work area clean, organised and well stocked, and completing all end-of-day processes.
Duties
· Prepare everything that is needed ahead of a shift.
· Prepare and serve beverages such as coffee, tea, and specialty drinks.
· Keep the café clean and presentable, clear tables, and assist with food service.
· Greet customers, take orders and operate the till.
· Answer customer questions about menu items, ingredients, and prices.
· Maintain a clean and organized work area.
· Work collaboratively with other team members to maintain a smooth and efficient operation.
· Assist with restocking supplies and maintaining inventory levels for coffee, milk, and other cafe essentials.
· Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines.
Requirements
· Experience in a hospitality, catering or customer service environment.
· Barista experience.
· A friendly, caring and professional approach.
· Good communication and teamwork skills.
· An understanding of food hygiene and health and safety practices.
· Basic math skills for cash handling and order processing.
· A passion for delivering excellent customer service.
· The ability to work quickly and efficiently in a busy environment.
· Weekend availability.
· Reliable, punctual, and adaptable.
· Flexibility to work regular shifts and cover holidays/sickness.
