Step Into Teaching is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary SEN school in Hinckley to recruit a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the September 2026 academic year. This full-time, term-time opportunity will see you supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to develop academically, socially and emotionally within a nurturing learning environment.
The Role
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you'll work alongside experienced teachers and SEND professionals to help every pupil reach their potential.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing classroom support throughout the school day.
- Delivering targeted interventions on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
- Supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
- Encouraging communication, confidence, independence and emotional development.
- Assisting teachers with lesson preparation, classroom organisation and behaviour support.
- Creating a safe, positive and engaging learning environment where every child can thrive.

Contract: Full-time | Monday-Friday | Term Time Only
Salary: £500-£530 per week

Candidate Requirements
- A 2:2 degree or above (all degree subjects considered).
- GCSE Grade 4 (C) or above in English and Maths.
- A genuine interest in education and supporting children with SEND.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Enthusiastic, adaptable and committed to making a positive impact.
