Driver / Store Manager / Labourer – Kitchen & Bathroom Refurbishments
Location: Birmingham & surrounding areas
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
About the Role
We are looking for a Driver / Store Manager / Labourer to join our growing team, supporting our kitchen and bathroom refurbishment operations across the Birmingham area.
This is a varied hands-on role for someone who is highly organised, reliable and practical, with a good understanding of the construction industry, particularly kitchen and bathroom fitting.
You will be responsible for managing materials within the store, organising deliveries to sites, loading and unloading materials and ensuring our trades have the correct materials available when they need them.
Key Responsibilities
* Organise and manage stock within the company store.
* Coordinate and organise material deliveries to multiple sites.
* Load and unload materials safely and efficiently.
* Drive company vehicles, including Luton-size vans.
* Deliver kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, plumbing materials and general building materials to site.
* Check deliveries against orders and report missing or damaged items.
* Keep the store clean, tidy and well organised.
* Maintain accurate stock levels and identify materials that need re-ordering.
* Prepare materials and kitchen/bathroom packs ready for site teams.
* Collect materials from suppliers when required.
* Assist site teams with labouring duties when required.
* Help with loading and unloading kitchens, bathrooms and other heavy materials.
* Work closely with Site Managers and Project Managers to ensure materials are available when required.
* Ensure materials are stored safely and securely.
* Maintain a high standard of organisation across the warehouse/store and vehicles.
Essential Requirements
* Previous experience within the construction industry.
* Good knowledge of kitchen and bathroom fitting/refurbishment.
* Comfortable driving vehicles up to Luton van size.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
* Able to work independently and manage multiple deliveries and priorities.
* Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling.
* Reliable, punctual and willing to get stuck in.
* Good communication skills.
* Ability to work as part of a busy construction team.
Desirable
* Previous experience as a Storeman, Driver, Labourer, Kitchen Fitter, Bathroom Fitter or Multi-Trader.
* Experience working on social housing refurbishments.
* Knowledge of common kitchen, bathroom, plumbing, flooring and building materials.
* CSCS card.
* Experience using stock sheets or basic stock management systems.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal person will be someone who knows the trade and understands what kitchen and bathroom teams need on site.
You don’t need to be a qualified tradesperson, but you must understand construction materials and be able to recognise when something is missing, incorrect or required urgently.
You will need to be hands-on, organised and proactive rather than someone who simply waits for instructions.
What We Offer
* Competitive salary based on experience.
* Full-time permanent position.
* Company vehicle provided for work duties.
* Stable and growing construction company.
* Varied role with opportunities to progress.
* Friendly and professional working environment.
* Regular work across Birmingham and surrounding areas.
If you’re organised, practical, reliable and have a good knowledge of kitchen and bathroom refurbishment, we’d like to hear from you.
