The Role
As a Scaffolder at ELCO Scaffolding Ltd, you will be responsible for the safe erection, alteration, maintenance and dismantling of scaffolding systems across a range of domestic, commercial and specialist projects.
You will work closely with our team and other construction professionals to ensure safe and efficient access is provided throughout each project. The role requires a strong understanding of scaffolding practices, excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of health and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding structures in accordance with industry standards and site requirements.
- Work from drawings, specifications and site instructions where required.
- Inspect scaffolding, components and equipment to ensure they are safe and fit for purpose.
- Ensure all scaffolding is constructed securely and maintained to the required standard.
- Work safely at height while following all company and site-specific safety procedures.
- Work effectively alongside other trades and construction teams.
- Adapt scaffolding solutions to suit different site conditions and project requirements.
- Correctly handle, load, unload and store scaffolding equipment and materials.
- Maintain tools, equipment and working areas in a clean and safe condition.
- Identify and report any potential hazards, defects or safety concerns.
- Follow all site-specific procedures, particularly when working within high-risk environments such as substations and confined spaces.
- Represent ELCO Scaffolding Ltd in a professional manner when working on client sites.
- Complete work efficiently while maintaining a consistently high standard of workmanship.
Mandatory Qualifications & Training
Applicants must hold the following current qualifications and certificates:
- Safety Critical Medical
- Manual Handling Certificate
- National Grid Persons – Substations
- Confined Space – Medium Risk
Candidates will be required to provide evidence of their relevant qualifications and certificates prior to commencing work.
Additional Experience & Qualifications
The following would also be advantageous:
- Relevant scaffolding qualifications and industry certification.
- Previous experience working on National Grid sites or within substations.
- Experience working in confined spaces.
- Experience working on domestic, commercial or industrial scaffolding projects.
- A valid driving licence.
- Additional construction or health and safety qualifications.
