Job Summary
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating a flatbed lorry to deliver goods efficiently across designated routes. This role requires a strong focus on safety, punctuality, and excellent driving skills, ensuring that all deliveries are completed in a timely and secure manner. Duties
- Safely operate a flatbed HGV Class 2 lorry in accordance with road regulations and company policies
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely collection and distribution of goods
- Load and unload cargo carefully, adhering to safety procedures and ensuring the integrity of the load
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts, reporting any faults or issues promptly
- Assist with securing loads on the flatbed to prevent movement during transit
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain necessary signatures upon completion of deliveries
- Follow all health and safety guidelines to minimise risks during driving, loading, and unloading processes
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding schedules or delivery updates
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver specialising in flatbed deliveries or similar roles
- Demonstrable driving skills with a clean driving licence suitable for HGV Class 2 vehicles
- Prior experience in delivery driver roles with knowledge of route planning and time management
- Familiarity with road safety regulations and compliance requirements for commercial vehicles
- Experience with loading and securing cargo on flatbeds is highly desirable
