About Us
Rothdean Limited is a well-established commercial vehicle and HGV and trailer manufacturer committed to providing high-quality servicing, repairs, and maintenance for a wide range of commercial vehicles and trailers. As our business continues to expand, we are looking for a motivated and reliable Vehicle Technician to join our workshop team.
The Role
As a Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, servicing, and repairing commercial vehicles and HGV trailers to ensure they are safe, roadworthy, and maintained to a high standard. You will work alongside an experienced team in a well-equipped workshop, with training provided where required to help develop your skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out pre-MOT inspections on commercial vehicles and HGV trailers.
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical faults efficiently and accurately.
- Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance.
- Identify worn or damaged components and carry out necessary repairs or replacements.
- Complete repair work in accordance with company standards.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance carried out.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and complies with health and safety regulations.
- Keep the workshop clean, organised, and equipped for daily operations.
- Assist colleagues with workshop tasks as required.
Requirements
- Good mechanical knowledge of commercial vehicles and/or HGV trailers.
- Experience carrying out vehicle inspections and maintenance.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs.
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills.
- Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Valid HGV driving licence (advantageous but not essential).
- Previous experience working on HGVs, trailers, or commercial vehicles.
- Relevant mechanical or automotive qualifications.
