Duties:
- Operate forklift to load and unload materials from trucks or storage areas
- Transport materials to designated areas using a forklift.
- Keeping store areas well organised and ensuring items are stored correctly
- Performing stock checks where requested
- Load HGVs from purchase order documentation, accurately recording each load
- Unload materials from suppliers as and when they are delivered
- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks as required
- Adhere to safety protocols and ensure a clean and organized work environment
Experience:
- Previous experience operating a forklift
- Strong knowledge of materials handling and proper lifting techniques
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures
- Basic math skills for inventory tracking and calculations
Skills:
- Ability to load and unload heavy materials using a forklift
- Proficient in operating various types of forklift equipment - telehandler
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in locating and moving materials
- Excellent organizational skills to maintain an orderly stockyard
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and supervisors
This position requires the ability to operate a forklift, and work in a fast-paced distribution environment. Candidates must have previous experience operating a forklift and be careful, methodical and able to record loads accurately.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective communication are essential for success in this role.
