Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Practitioner to join our childcare team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with young children, supporting their development and learning in a nurturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and educational atmosphere that promotes early childhood growth. Previous nursery experience and a background in early childhood education are highly desirable. Duties
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities that support children’s developmental milestones
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for children under your care
- Support children with their personal care routines, including feeding, dressing, and hygiene needs
- Observe and record children's progress, sharing insights with parents and team members
- Manage behaviour effectively using positive reinforcement techniques
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth daily operations within the nursery or childcare setting
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the play areas and resources
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's wellbeing and progress
- Assist in organising outings or trips that enhance children’s learning experiences
- Uphold all health and safety regulations in accordance with childcare standards
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood setting is preferred
- Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education practices
- Strong management and leadership skills to guide children effectively
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for organising outings or home visits
- Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are desirable but not essential
- A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their growth
