Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant to join our team during the weekends. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and beverage service, coupled with a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and customer satisfaction. As a Cafe Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our café runs smoothly and efficiently, providing an exceptional experience for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve food and beverages in accordance with food safety regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of menu items, ensuring freshness and quality.
- Operate coffee machines and other equipment to create a variety of beverages, utilising barista skills.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area, including tables, counters, and kitchen equipment.
- Provide excellent customer service by taking orders, answering questions about the menu, and addressing customer needs.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, demonstrating basic math skills for processing payments.
- Manage time effectively to ensure timely service during busy periods.
- Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a café or food service environment is preferred but not essential.
- Knowledge of food safety practices is essential to maintain hygiene standards.
- Barista experience is an advantage but training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Strong serving skills with the ability to engage positively with customers.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
