Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) – Maternity Cover
AllPets Veterinary Surgery – Prestatyn & Rhyl, North Wales

AllPets Veterinary Surgery is an expanding independent small animal practice with surgeries in Prestatyn and Rhyl. We are a friendly, clinically ambitious practice that has invested significantly in our facilities and equipment, including CT, advanced ultrasound, endoscopy, dental facilities and visiting specialists in areas including orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery and cardiology.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join our team for approximately 12 months to cover maternity leave.
The role will be predominantly based at our Prestatyn surgery, with some work at our Rhyl branch. This is a varied position suited to a well-rounded nurse who enjoys being involved in all aspects of practice life.
The role
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Nurse clinics and preventative healthcare
- Theatre and anaesthesia
- Inpatient and hospitalised patient care
- Diagnostic imaging, including radiography and CT
- Dental nursing and radiography
- Schedule 3 procedures where appropriate
- Patient monitoring and post-operative care
- Telephone and client advice
- Maintaining accurate clinical records
- Pharmacy and controlled drug duties
- Maintaining equipment and clinical standards
- General practice cleanliness and organisation
- Reception and general client-facing duties when required
- Insurance claim administration and processing when required
We would particularly welcome a nurse with an interest in nurse clinics, as we are keen to continue developing this area of the practice. The successful applicant should be confident making appropriate independent decisions while recognising when support is required.
About you
We are looking for an RVN who is:
- RCVS registered
- Well organised and able to work independently
- Enthusiastic about providing high standards of patient and client care
- Comfortable working across a varied first-opinion caseload
- A good communicator who enjoys working as part of a small team
- Keen to develop their own skills and clinical interests
- Willing to get involved in the wider running of the practice
We value experience, but attitude, reliability and a willingness to get involved are equally important.

Hours & contract
- Fixed-term maternity cover for approximately 12 months
- Expected start: November 2026
- Full-time preferred, although part-time applications will be considered
- Based across Prestatyn and Rhyl, predominantly Prestatyn
- Rota'd weekends required
- No OOH
Requirements
Essential: Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)
Also required:
- Valid UK driving licence
- Good IT skills
- Ability to work across both practice locations
