Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) is a distinctive, unique institution, rooted in the Liverpool City Region and with a global presence. Our students and staff, past, present, and future, are the beating heart of our city and can be found in every corner of every industry and community. We couldn’t exist anywhere else and have shaped the city in which we belong. Working with the people of Liverpool to improve lives and support communities is at the heart of why we were founded and why we exist today.
Liverpool John Moores University is committed to delivering high-quality, practice-based education through strong partnerships and outstanding student support. The School of Education plays a key role in this mission, delivering Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programmes alongside a wider portfolio of education-related courses where work-based learning and professional practice are central to the student experience.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Partnerships and Work-Based Learning Manager (Initial Teacher Training and Education Programmes) to lead the operational delivery of placement, partnership and professional practice activity across the School of Education.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant contribution to the student experience by ensuring the effective delivery of placements, supporting productive relationships with partner organisations and maintaining high standards of compliance and service delivery.
Reporting to the Academic Services Manager, and working closely with academic colleagues, professional services teams and external partners, you will ensure that placement activity is efficient, well managed and responsive to changing requirements. You will also lead and develop the partnership administration team and contribute to the continuous improvement of systems, processes and services that support students, staff and partners.
You will bring substantial experience of operational management within higher education, education or a similarly complex environment and have a proven ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining excellent service standards.
Experience of developing and maintaining successful external partnerships and stakeholder relationships, leading teams, supporting work-based learning, placements or professional practice activity, and working within quality assurance and regulatory frameworks is essential. You will be an excellent communicator with strong organisational and problem-solving skills, capable of building productive relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
In return, we offer an excellent benefits package including generous annual leave entitlement, pension scheme, induction and development support as well as family-friendly policies.
This is an exciting time to join the university as we deliver the LJMU Strategy 2030 and its vision of LJMU as an inclusive civic university transforming lives and futures, by placing students at the heart of everything we do.
If you feel that this is the role you have been looking for and your skills and experience can make a real difference at LJMU, we look forward to hearing from you.
LJMU values diversity and provides a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone can fulfil their potential.
Please note all of our vacancies will be closed to applications at midnight on the advertised closing date, unless otherwise stated.
