Creative Support are looking for an experienced, confident and proactive Relief Support Worker to join our supportive team at our mental health supported living service near Alexandra Park, South Manchester.
Our service comprises of 11 self-contained flats where we focus on providing tailored recovery support to residents with mental health support needs. We predominantly support individuals from African and Caribbean backgrounds, so the successful candidate will demonstrate an understanding and appreciation for these cultures.
As a Relief Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting tenants to maintain independence, achieve their goals and enjoy a fulfilling life.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing tenancy-related support in line with individual support plans
- Support tenants with daily living tasks and skills, such as cooking, shopping, attending appointments, and medication reminders/observations.
- Develop warm, trusting and professional relationships with tenants.
- Encourage and enable tenants to engage in a range of meaningful activities within and outside their homes.
- Support access to community (resources, services, and opportunities)
- Complete welfare checks
We are seeking candidates from all walks of life who have genuine passion for supporting and advocating for people with mental health support needs. You will bring a commitment to providing high quality, person-centred support, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will have a positive and proactive approach.
The service is staffed between 9am to 8pm, and there will be opportunities to pick up shifts including evenings and weekends.
Please note that there will be aspects of lone working involved in this role.
A minimum of 12 months experience in care is essential for all Relief roles.
As a Creative Support Bank Staff member, you’ll have access to our SONA app, which allows you to pick up shifts anywhere in the country and provides information on services and shifts, as well as directions. You will be paid on a weekly basis via our Bank payroll.
Relief roles allow you to pick up shifts when it suits you – ideal for working around personal commitments, study, or caring responsibilities.
