Stage Sound Services is a Cardiff-based company working at the heart of the live events and entertainment industry. We provide professional audio, lighting, staging, and technical production services to theatres, festivals, corporate events, touring productions, and major live shows across the UK.

The Role
The Account Manager is responsible for building and maintaining strong client relationships by delivering exceptional service and tailored technical solutions that meet and exceed customer expectations. As the main point of contact for clients, they will coordinate with internal teams to ensure the successful planning, delivery and management of equipment hires, while overseeing equipment specifications, logistics and administration across multiple projects. Additionally, this role contributes to the overall success of the department by assisting other members of the hires team with the day-to-day administrative tasks.
Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm. Due to the nature of this role, occasional work outside of standard working hours may be required to meet business needs. We are therefore looking for someone who is flexible and able to accommodate these requirements when needed. Any approved overtime worked will be paid in accordance with the Company overtime policy.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a strong understanding of the company's equipment, and technical services, with training and support provided where required.
- Prepare accurate quotations in line with client needs and company procedures.
- Create detailed hire lists and work with clients to ensure complete, fit for purpose equipment solutions are delivered.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact.
- Deliver exceptional day-to-day customer service through clear communication, proactive updates and timely resolution of queries or issues, project life cycles, ensuring an exceptional client experience.
- Actively pursue new business opportunities, targeting both existing accounts and potential new clients.
- Utilise a strategic soft-selling approach to maximise upselling and cross-selling potential.

About You
We are looking for someone with excellent communication and organisational skills who enjoys building relationships and solving problems. Previous experience is beneficial, but we also welcome motivated individuals who are eager to learn, develop their technical knowledge and grow within the role.
Essential Requirements:
- Good standard of education, including English and Maths or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships at all levels.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Project management skills, with attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.
- Robust technical knowledge of equipment.
- Strong customer service skills with a positive, solution-focused attitude.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
- Good critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in a range of IT systems and software, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and software.
Desirable Requirements:
- Experience in the entertainment/events industry or a technically-related field.
- Experience in account management or a similar client-facing role.
- Working knowledge of Flex Rental Management Software or similar systems.
- A robust knowledge of Health and Safety at work.
- Driving licence.
- An awareness of environmental sustainability practices and a desire to contribute to the company's environmental objectives.
