We are seeking a reliable and experienced Plant Operator / Foreman to join our growing groundworks team. This is a hands-on role that combines plant operation with site supervision and requires someone who is equally comfortable operating machinery, leading a small team, and working alongside operatives on site.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in groundworks, landscaping, and small civil engineering projects, with a strong understanding of health and safety, site productivity, and quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating excavators, dumpers, rollers, and other plant machinery.
- Supervising and coordinating plant tasks and movment.
- Carrying out and overseeing plant and vehicle daily checks
- Reading and interpreting site drawings and specifications.
- Ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
- Managing plant, site logistics and defect recording.
- Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and management where required.
- Leading by example with a proactive, hands-on approach
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in a Plant Operator and/or Foreman role.
- Strong background in groundworks, Plant operation, and small civils projects.
- Valid CPCS or NPORS Plant Operator certification.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Confident driver skills with vans and trucks including towing trailers.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Pay: £37,440.00-£45,760.00 per year
