We’re looking for a Warehouse Operative to join our team in Hailsham. You’ll play an important role in keeping our warehouse moving - from receiving stock and putting products away, to picking, packing and preparing orders for dispatch.
This role would suit someone who enjoys being active, takes pride in accuracy, works well as part of a team and understands the importance of getting things right for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
Picking & Packing
- Accurately pick items according to order sheets or handheld scanners.
- Pack goods securely and label correctly for dispatch.
- Take ownership of quality by identifying and reporting damaged goods or discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain a consistent pace of work while adapting to changing priorities during busy periods.
Goods In & Out
- Assist with unloading deliveries and checking goods against delivery notes.
- Store goods in the correct locations, following stock rotation procedures.
- Prepare and load outgoing shipments accurately and on time to support customer delivery commitments.
- Respond positively to operational changes and varying workloads.
Stock Control
- Maintain accurate records of stock movements using systems and scanners.
- Take accountability for stock accuracy by reporting discrepancies, anomalies or low stock levels.
- Support stock counts and continuous improvement initiatives to improve inventory integrity.
Health & Safety
- Follow all health and safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
- Keep work areas clean and free from hazards.
- Report any incidents, near misses or unsafe practices.
Teamwork & Communication
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, building positive and respectful working relationships.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Actively contribute to team success, prioritising shared goals over individual tasks.
- Demonstrate a positive, approachable attitude and support colleagues, including new starters or temporary staff.
- Participate in daily briefings and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.

Skills & Experience
- Previous warehouse or logistics experience preferred.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic IT or scanner-use experience is an advantage.
- Physically fit and able to lift and move goods safely.
- Driving licence essential.
- FLT licence preferred, but training will be given.

Working Hours
08:00–16:30, Monday to Friday.
Overtime may be required during peak periods.
Pay: £29,140.00 per year
