Teaching Assistant – Further Education College

We are working with a leading Further Education college in East London that is recruiting a number of Teaching Assistants to support students across the college.
There are 17 positions available:
- 6 positions – 21.6 hours per week
- 9 positions – 28.8 hours per week
- 2 positions – 36 hours per week
These are initially contract roles and will continue while the college recruits to its permanent vacancies.
The Role
You will work alongside teaching and support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. You will support students in the classroom, one-to-one and in small groups, including learners with SEND, autism and additional learning needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students with classroom activities and learning.
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support.
- Support learners with SEND, autism and additional needs.
- Assist with individual support and education plans.
- Adapt your approach to meet different learning needs.
- Encourage learner confidence, participation and independence.
- Provide mentoring and pastoral support where required.
- Help maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
About You
We are interested in candidates with experience working with young people or adults within education, SEND, care or support settings.
Ideally, you will have:
- Experience supporting individuals with additional needs.
- An understanding of SEND, autism or learning disabilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, supportive and adaptable approach.
- A genuine passion for helping learners achieve their potential.
An Enhanced DBS will be essential.
