St Marks Nursing Home is a 35 bed private independent home , The home has a good local reputation and is maintained to very high standards. Our team provide a secure, happy and welcoming atmosphere for all residents and visitors.
The role:
An opportunity has arisen at St Marks for a part time Kitchen Assistant. The hours of work are 0900 - 1700, 3 days per week. This will include weekend work on occasions, you will have a fixed Rota well in advance to enable you to plan around your shifts, you will be required to work extra to cover holidays / sickness.
The work is both interesting as well as challenging and varied. you will support the clinical teams who deliver specialist care to our residents, of course. However, you will also play a major role in making the lives of our residents as happy and fulfilling as possible - not just by showing real warmth to them and their families, but by continuously looking for ways to engage their interest and enhance their experience everyday
As kitchen assistant, you will be working to the highest standards, ensuring dietary requirements of all the residents are met. You will
- Prepare food and meals
- General kitchen housekeeping, ensuring the kitchen meets high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in line with the Health and Safety and Company guidelines to ensure safe working practice within the Home.
- Serving food/drinks/snacks to the residents at meal times
- Cleaning after service (Dishwasher duties, clearing down tables, preparation benches)
We are looking for a motivated, hard-working individual with great attention to detail, who will thrive in our smaller kitchen and undertake relevant training.
About You:
You will have a caring nature and a positive attitude, showing a desire to deliver the best possible standard of service to the residents in our care. You will be able to demonstrate compassion and empathy in your approach to older people and be a team player but able to work on your own initiative. You will be dependable and flexible to meet the needs of the residents and the Home.
