We are now looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team at our Doncaster site.
About the Role
This role has a strong focus on credit control, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts while maintaining positive relationships with customers. Alongside this, you’ll support the Finance Manager with a range of accounting tasks, gaining valuable exposure to broader finance activities and you’ll play an important part in supporting the financial health of the business. .
Key Responsibilities include:
- Managing the sales ledger and credit control function
- Chasing outstanding debts via phone, email, and other channels
- Allocating cash and reconciling customer accounts
- Resolving customer queries efficiently
- Monitoring credit limits and escalating risks where necessary
- Producing aged debt reports and supporting reporting requirements
- Assisting with month-end activities and general accounting tasks
- Supporting the Finance Manager with day-to-day finance duties
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has proven experience in credit control
- Is confident communicating with customers and handling payment discussions
- Has strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Is well organised with the ability to manage their workload effectively
- Has good IT skills, including Excel and finance systems
- Ideally has experience supporting wider accounting tasks (e.g. journals, reconciliations)
- AAT qualified or studying (desirable but not essential)
