Base Location: For this role, we require successful applicants to be based from one of our Scottish locations and you'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in the office – Perth or Inverness
Salary: £36,200 - £54,400 + car/allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

The role
We require an Assistant Project Manager to support a cluster of projects in the North Coast of Scotland. Although this role can be based out of Perth, Inverness or Glasgow, it is expected that regular travel (at least once a month) will be required to the Caithness area as well as travel to any of the main offices for regular team meetings.
You will
- Support the safe delivery of projects, promoting best practice in health, safety and environmental performance and ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations and SSE's safety standards.
- Assist with the planning, monitoring and control of project activities and work packages, helping to deliver projects safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
- Support commercial and contractual activities, including NEC contract administration, contractor management and change control processes.
- Apply recognised project management processes, governance arrangements, reporting standards and tools throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with SSE's Large Capital Projects Governance Framework.
- Undertake pre-construction and project delivery activities, including site visits, progress monitoring, stakeholder engagement, risk and opportunity management, issue resolution and responding to technical queries.
You have
- A good understanding of project management principles and practices, supported by a qualification in engineering, construction, project management or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience supporting the delivery of projects within the transmission, construction, energy, utilities or other regulated sectors, gained within client, consultancy, contractor or subcontractor environments.
- An understanding of engineering or construction activities and associated health, safety and environmental legislation, including CDM 2015 Regulations.
- Commercial awareness and experience of project governance, reporting and contract administration, ideally within an NEC contract environment.
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate stakeholders and drive actions through to completion.
A full, current driving licence, with the ability to travel and attend site regularly.
