About the Role
EXIN CONSTRUCTION LTD is looking for an experienced Kitchen Fitter / Bathroom Boarder to join our growing refurbishment team.
The role involves working on social housing kitchen and bathroom refurbishment projects across Birmingham and surrounding areas.
We are looking for someone who can work independently, produce a high-quality finish and complete works within agreed programmes.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tradesperson looking for regular, ongoing work.
Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Fitting
* Full kitchen installations from start to finish
* Remove existing kitchens where required
* Install base units and wall units
* Fit doors, drawers and handles
* Install and cut worktops
* Fit sinks and taps
* Fit appliances and associated components
* Carry out basic carpentry and joinery
* Make adjustments to units and worktops where required
* Complete kitchen snagging and remedial works
* Ensure kitchens are installed to company quality standards
Bathroom Boarding
* Remove existing bathroom finishes where required
* Install plasterboard and moisture-resistant boards
* Board walls and ceilings to the required specification
* Install appropriate backing boards around baths, showers and wet areas
* Cut boards accurately around pipes, windows, doors and services
* Ensure boards are securely fixed and correctly prepared for plastering/tiling
* Carry out boxing-in and service enclosures
* Install access panels where required
* Ensure all joints, corners and interfaces are properly prepared
* Work closely with plumbers, electricians, plasterers and tilers
General Responsibilities
* Work alongside other trades to ensure properties are completed on programme
* Maintain a clean, safe and tidy working environment
* Protect tenants’ homes, fixtures and belongings
* Follow company RAMS, COSHH and health & safety procedures
* Complete snagging before leaving properties
* Report additional works or issues to the Site Manager
* Liaise professionally with tenants and site management
* Maintain a high standard of workmanship at all times
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
* Proven experience as a Kitchen Fitter
* Good experience with plasterboarding and bathroom boarding
* Experience working in domestic properties
* Good knowledge of refurbishment works
* Ability to work independently
* Excellent attention to detail
* Ability to work to deadlines and programmes
* Good communication skills
* Professional approach when working in occupied properties
* Full set of appropriate hand and power tools
* Full UK driving licence
Social housing, voids, local authority or refurbishment experience is highly desirable.

Experience
Essential:
* Previous experience as a Kitchen Fitter
* Experience with plasterboard/bathroom boarding
* Domestic refurbishment experience
*NEEDS TO HAVE CSCS BLUE OR GOLD CARD
Desirable:
* Social housing experience
* Void property experience
* Kitchen and bathroom refurbishment experience
* Multi-trade experience
* Experience working in occupied properties
