Production Technician (Artisan Dairy)
Full-time | Monday to Friday | 40 hours per week
Salary: £31,000–£35,000 per year (depending on experience)
Join an award-winning artisan dairy.
The Dorset Dairy Co is an independent dairy processor producing authentic strained yoghurt, cultured butter, cream, kefir and with an exciting new product pipeline.
We are looking for a Production Technician to become a key member of our small, friendly team. This is not a production line role. We are looking for someone who takes pride in producing exceptional food, enjoys responsibility, and wants to play an important part in a growing business.
The successful candidate will take ownership of key production processes, work independently once trained, and consistently maintain the high standards our customers expect. We are looking for someone who never cuts corners and genuinely cares about producing quality products.
The role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Producing our cultured butter.
- Potting yoghurt, kefir and cream products.
- Picking and packing wholesale customer orders.
- Assisting in the production and development of our new product range.
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene and quality standards.
- Helping the team improve efficiency and maintain a well-organised production area.
Typical working pattern

Tuesday: 5:00am–10:00am, 12:00pm–5:00pm
Wednesday: 5:00am–2:00pm
Thursday: 5:00am–10:00am, then 2:00pm–5:00pm
Friday: Approximately 8:00am–1:00pm
We're looking for someone who:
- Is reliable and enjoys taking responsibility.
- Can work independently after training.
- Has excellent attention to detail and record keeping.
- Takes pride in producing high-quality food.
- Enjoys working as part of a small, supportive team.
- Is happy with three early morning starts each week.
- Food production or dairy experience would be an advantage but is not essential, as full training will be provided.
- Has a valid drivers licence and own transport.
If you're looking for a role where your work genuinely matters and you'd like to help produce some of the UK's finest artisan cultured dairy products, we'd love to hear from you.
