Do you want a role where every day every day brings the opportunity to make a genuine difference in someone's life? We are looking for an Employability Key Worker to join our Key Worker Service to support individuals across Dumfries and Galloway who are facing barriers to employment, training and furthering their education and skills.
You will provide personalised needs assessed support, helping individuals build confidence, develop skills and progress toward sustainable employment. Working closely with a wide range of partner organisations, you will play a key role in creating positive opportunities for local people.
What you will do
- manage caseloads of individuals on their employability journey
- deliver 1 to 1 and group work employability support sessions
- help individuals access training, volunteering and employment opportunities
- build effective relationships with employers and partner agencies
- maintain accurate records track participant journeys and contribute to progression reporting
What we’re looking for
- excellent communication and relationship building skills
- experience supporting people with barriers to employment or complex needs a positive person centred and organised approach
- a keen eye for detail and the ability to record and report client progress accurately a commitment to equality inclusion and collaborative working

A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
This post is fixed term until 31st of March 2027.
This post may be suitable for secondment. Agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying for this post.
