Cerebral Security Solutions Ltd is currently recruiting a part time security officer who must have an SIA "Security guard licence". You will be mainly situated in and around Bath, Corsham and Wells but may be required to work at other locations. This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the Southwest’s leading security service providers.
As a security officer you will be an essential part of the team, demonstrating a high level of appreciation for customer care and safety.
The position is one of responsibility for general health and safety and customer service. The strict fulfilment of safeguarding, fire regulations and committing to businesses policies are paramount to the position, as well as a firm basis in public relations and assisting in dealing with difficult people and situations.
You will be patrolling around sites by vehicle and on foot and dealing mainly with students, staff, and visitors within an education establishment, there are other site you will also visit.. Alongside your fixed patrol times you will also be on call to deal with alarm activation, this is on a rota basis. There will be extra hours available within the organisation.
The candidate must:
- Possess an SIA front line security guard licence
- Be able to build a rapport with clients
- Have excellent communication and customer service skills
- Demonstrate the ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team
- Provide a 5-year checkable work history
- Have good observation skills
- Be able to defuse heated or violent situations in a calm and rational way
- Have a driving licence and transportation
- Be happy to work sporadic hours during the day/night
Key Tasks include:
- Providing a professional and friendly welcome
- Liaising with clients, customers, and colleagues
- Acting as a point of customer support and handling incidents inside and outside of the site
- Providing a security presence to ensure the safe running of the site whilst enhancing the customer experience
- Patrol inside and outside the site
- Watching people’s behaviour and dealing with conflict
- Deal with emergencies
- Co-operating with emergency services and management
- Providing first aid assistance
- Writing incident reports and complete other documentation in a clear concise way.
- To check and make sure fire exits are not obstructed and operational
- To supervise the evacuation of staff and students in the event of a fire
- To check all areas of the site to make sure all hazards are dealt with appropriately
- To be able to use a two-way radio correctly
This by no means is an extensive list, and you may be required to undertake other duties within and outside your role.
Working hours are Monday to Sunday 04:30 to 05:30 / 20:00 to 22:00 contract 1
Working hours are Monday to Friday 16:00 - 22:00
