Part-Time Self-Employed Manager / Housekeeper to start in September.
Holiday Cottages in the Eskdale Valley, the Lake District
We are looking for a reliable, organised and hands-on self-employed Manager/Housekeeper to help look after a small collection of holiday cottages in the beautiful Lake District.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards and enjoys creating a welcoming experience for holiday guests.
The Role
You will be responsible for the day-to-day running and presentation of the cottages, ensuring they are clean, comfortable and ready for guests.
Responsibilities will include:
- Cleaning and preparing cottages between guest stays
- Checking that everything is clean, tidy and in good working order
- Managing changeover days and ensuring cottages are guest-ready
- Reporting and arranging minor maintenance issues where necessary
- Checking supplies and arranging/replenishing cleaning and guest essentials
- Communicating with guests when required
- Overseeing check-ins and check-outs
- Coordinating tradespeople or contractors when needed
- Maintaining consistently high standards across the properties
- Dealing with any occasional issues that arise during guest stays
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Reliable, trustworthy and self-motivated
- Organised and able to work independently
- Practical and willing to get stuck in
- Friendly and approachable with good communication skills
- Detail-oriented, with high standards of cleanliness and presentation
- Flexible, particularly around weekends and changeover days
- Comfortable dealing with guests and resolving problems
- Ideally experienced in holiday lets, housekeeping, hospitality or property management
A driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential.
Hours, Working Arrangements and Pay
This is a part-time, self-employed position, with hours varying according to bookings and seasonality of the holiday cottage business and guest changeovers.
The role requires flexibility and would suit someone looking for part-time work who is able to provide a reliable service throughout the year.
