The Role
We are looking for a talented and motivated Pastry Chef to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who is new to the industry and looking to improve as a pastry chef, someone who has a genuine passion for artisan pastry and enjoys working in a fast-paced, quality-focused environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Head Pastry Chef to produce a range of handcrafted pastries while maintaining the highest standards of quality, cleanliness, and organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and produce laminated pastries, viennoiserie, cakes, tarts, and seasonal specials.
- Assist with mixing, laminating, shaping, proving, baking, decorating, and finishing products.
- Maintain exceptional consistency and presentation across all products.
- Follow recipes accurately while helping improve efficiency and minimise waste.
- Ensure food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards are maintained at all times.
- Monitor ingredient quality and report stock shortages.
- Help with daily preparation, packing, and organisation for wholesale orders.
- Work efficiently during busy periods while maintaining attention to detail.
- Contribute ideas for new seasonal products and menu development.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a Pastry Chef or Baker. (Minimum 1 year experience)
- Knowledge of pastry, viennoiserie, and baking techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality products.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Flexible working hours, willing to work early mornings.
- Understanding of food hygiene and HACCP procedures.
