Overview
We are seeking a skilled FLT Driver to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklift trucks to efficiently handle materials, ensuring the smooth flow of goods within the warehouse environment. This role requires a proactive individual with strong mechanical knowledge and experience in warehouse management systems, who can contribute to maintaining high safety and operational standards.
Duties
- Operate forklift trucks to load, unload, and move materials safely and efficiently across the warehouse.
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate documentation and handling of goods.
- Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records accordingly.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic repairs or notify maintenance for mechanical issues.
- Handle materials with care, including heavy lifting when necessary, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Support stock organisation by stacking and storing items in designated areas, maintaining a tidy workspace.
- Collaborate with team members to optimise warehouse operations and ensure timely dispatch of goods.
Requirements
- Valid forklift licence with proven experience operating forklift trucks in a busy warehouse setting.
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems and materials handling procedures.
- Mechanical knowledge for basic equipment repairs and troubleshooting.
- Experience in shipping & receiving processes, including load & unload operations.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to perform basic maths accurately for inventory counts.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or walking within the warehouse environment.
- Previous warehouse experience is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with safety protocols and efficient workflow practices.
Pay: From £34,000.00 per year
