Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofs on residential and commercial properties. Duties
- Installing new roofing systems using various materials such as tiles, slates, asphalt, or metal sheets
- Repairing or replacing damaged or worn roofing components
- Inspecting roofs to assess damage or deterioration and determining appropriate repair methods
- Assisting with the preparation of roofing surfaces and ensuring proper insulation and waterproofing
- Operating hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently during installation and repair work
- Collaborating with other tradespeople such as carpenters, plumbers, or electricians when necessary
- Ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations and industry standards
- Maintaining a clean and organised work site throughout each project
Requirements
- Proven experience in roofing, carpentry, or construction trades is essential
- Knowledge of related skills including construction painting, plumbing, masonry, welding, electrical experience, fabrication, and the use of hand tools and power tools is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of health and safety practices relevant to roofing work
- Ability to work at heights safely and comfortably on ladders or scaffolding
- Physical fitness to perform manual labour over extended periods in various weather conditions
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in roofing or construction trades are preferred but not mandatory
