- HGV Driving Experience: Proven experience working as an HGV Driver within the asphalt, aggregates, sand or construction materials industry is required.
- Night Shift Availability: You must be available to work night shifts Monday–Friday, plus every other weekend.
- Vehicle Checks & Defect Reporting: You must be confident carrying out thorough daily walk-around checks, identifying defects and accurately reporting them using a mobile phone-based defect reporting system.
- Vehicle Care: You will be responsible for keeping your assigned vehicle clean, tidy and well maintained, both inside and outside.
- Safety & Compliance: A strong commitment to safe driving, vehicle checks and transport regulations is essential.

About the Role
We are a family-run business looking for an experienced HGV Driver to join our team, delivering asphalt, aggregates and sand to a range of sites across the North West.
This is a predominantly night-time driving role, operating Monday to Friday nights with every other weekend.
You will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of materials while maintaining high standards of vehicle care, completing required checks and reporting any defects promptly.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport and deliver asphalt, aggregates and sand to customer and construction sites throughout the North West.
- Complete daily pre-shift and post-shift walk-around vehicle checks.
- Identify, record and report any vehicle defects using the company's mobile reporting system.
- Ensure all defects are reported accurately and promptly.
- Keep your vehicle clean and tidy, both internally and externally.
- Carry out basic day-to-day vehicle care and checks.
- Follow all relevant road transport, health and safety and site procedures.
- Deliver materials safely, efficiently and on schedule.
- Maintain a professional attitude when dealing with customers, site teams and colleagues.
- Take responsibility for the condition and presentation of your allocated vehicle.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for an experienced HGV Driver who:
- Has previous experience in the asphalt, aggregates, sand or construction materials sector.
- Is confident working night shifts.
- Has a strong understanding of vehicle safety and daily defect checks.
- Takes pride in keeping their vehicle clean, tidy and well presented.
- Is reliable, punctual and safety-conscious.
- Has good attention to detail when completing vehicle checks and defect reports.
- Can work independently while maintaining high standards of professionalism.
- Is comfortable using a mobile phone to complete digital defect reporting.
