We are seeking a skilled mechanical fitter with previous experience to join our team at Transformers & Rectifiers. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, installing and repairing various mechanical components to create functioning transformers and rectifiers.
Transformers & Rectifiers Ltd is an independent British company and specialist world leader in the design, manufacture, installation, and maintenance of liquid filled, cast resin, and dry type transformers and transformer rectifiers. Some of our products are produced for radiotherapy equipment used for the treatment of cancer all over the world.
Responsibilities:
Carry out assembly of components as per engineering drawings.
Operating machines and tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures.
Reading and working from technical drawings, manuals and documentation.
The use of precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, vernier gauges, dial indicators, callipers and torque wrenches.
The safe use of hand tools, power tools and heavy machinery.
Preparation of mechanical assemblies and components.
Performing safety inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety policies.
Maintaining good housekeeping and promote a safe working environment.
Required skills:
Ability to follow manufacturing works instructions.
Can work under pressure and achieve deadlines.
High attention to detail.
Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.
Enthusiasm and drive with a flexible approach to work and an ability to adapt to changing business and project priorities.

From £15 per hour (negotiable depending on experience)

Hours of Work:
Full-time, permanent 39 hrs per week, with the opportunity for overtime if available. This is following completion of successful probation period.
Monday – Thursday 0730 – 1630
Friday 0730 – 1230
30 minute lunch break (unpaid) and two 15 minute tea breaks
