Job Overview
We are seeking an organised and proactive Assistant Property Manager to support our Block Management team. Working closely with a Property Manager, you will assist in the day-to-day management of residential and mixed-use blocks, ensuring properties are well-maintained, compliant, and that leaseholders receive a high standard of service.
This role is ideal for someone with at least one year’s experience in property management who is looking to progress their career within block management.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a point of contact for leaseholders, residents and freeholders
- Support service charge budgeting, reporting and reconciliations
- Assist with issuing service charge demands and year-end accounts
- Log and coordinate maintenance requests and repairs
- Obtain quotations and liaise with contractors and surveyors
- Carry out regular site inspections and monitor H&S and fire safety compliance
- Maintain accurate property and contractor records
- Assist with Section 20 consultation processes
- Organise and attend residents’ meetings, directors’ meetings and AGMs
- Support the resolution of leaseholder queries and disputes
- Issue notices and maintain clear, timely communication
- Keep up to date with lease obligations and relevant legislation
Requirements
Essential
- Minimum 1 year’s experience in property management or a related support role
- Knowledge of leasehold management and service charge administration
- Understanding of Section 20 (Landlord and Tenant Act 1985)
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Good attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with property management systems (e.g. Qube PM, Propman, Blockman, Fixflo or similar)
Desirable
- TPI qualification or working towards
- Experience with compliance, fire risk assessments or H&S inspections
- Understanding of planned maintenance programmes
