Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation. This position requires a passion for food, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to maintaining food safety and hygiene standards.
Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations and staff.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff in food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
- Ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest quality and presentation standards.
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering and stock control.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop new menu items and seasonal specials.
- Monitor food safety practices to ensure compliance with health regulations.
Skills
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- Proficient in food safety regulations and best practices.
- Extensive knowledge of food production in a care setting.
- Experience in supervising kitchen staff within a care setting.
- Excellent skills in food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to facilitate teamwork within the kitchen.
