An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an expanding Dispute Resolution team, working on a varied and high-quality caseload of property and real estate disputes.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious solicitor who wants to take ownership of their own matters, work directly with a diverse client base and develop their career within a supportive and growing legal team.
The Role
You will manage your own caseload of property litigation matters, providing clear, strategic and commercially focused advice to clients.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing your own Property Litigation caseload from instruction through to resolution
- Advising on contractual and property-related disputes
- Handling commercial property disputes
- Dealing with landlord and tenant disputes
- Advising on Lease Renewals under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954
- Handling dilapidation claims
- Dealing with forfeiture and possession claims
- Advising on service charge and rent arrears disputes
- Handling breach of covenant claims
- Advising on boundary, easement and right of way disputes
- Dealing with agricultural and rural property disputes
- Advising on real estate contractual disputes
- Negotiating settlements and alternative dispute resolution
- Preparing pleadings, applications and other legal documentation
- Working closely with colleagues across Property, Corporate and Dispute Resolution
- Maintaining accurate and compliant case files
- Keeping up to date with relevant legislation and case law
- Managing deadlines, time recording and billing requirements
- Participating in supervision and contributing to team development
- Taking an active role in business development and networking
- Developing and growing your own client base
The Clients
You will advise a diverse client base, including:
- SMEs
- Large corporates
- Property developers
- Landowners
- Managing agents
- Commercial property owners
- Agricultural and rural clients
- Private individuals
This provides excellent exposure to a broad range of interesting and often complex property disputes.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a confident and commercially minded Property Litigation Solicitor with the technical ability to manage their own caseload.
You will ideally have:
- 3+ years' PQE
- Strong experience in Property Litigation
- Experience dealing with a wide range of property disputes
- Experience with landlord and tenant matters
- Experience with real estate contractual disputes would be highly advantageous
- Strong technical, drafting and analytical skills
- Excellent negotiation and communication abilities
- Proven ability to manage your own caseload
- Excellent client care and relationship-building skills
- Strong commercial awareness
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a wider team
- A proactive approach to business development
- Desire to develop your own client base and professional network
