Overview
We are seeking a reliable Yard Operative /HGV Driver to join our Peterborough team . The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the upkeep, organisation and movement of vehicles within our yard and workshop, ensuring safety and efficiency in daily operations.

What are the working hours for this role?
Monday to Friday 7:00-16:00, with a 30-minute break per shift.
What does the role involve?
- Organise and maintain yard and workshop cleanliness and safety standards
- Support in the movement of vehicles around the site
- Conduct routine vehicle checks and basic maintenance tasks on company vehicles
- Communicate effectively with team members
- Assist with inventory management, including stock organisation
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
- Collection and delivery of customer and company vehicles
- Ensure vehicles are cleaned to the required standard, including steam cleaning operations
What are we looking for in a candidate?
- Valid HGV driver’s licence with a clean driving record
- Experience in driving commercial vehicles
- Previous warehouse or yard experience is advantageous
- Mechanical knowledge to assist with basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting
- Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and customer interactions
- Ability to operate manual handling equipment safely
- Good organisational skills with an organised approach to work tasks
