Senior Night Care Assistant – Six-Month Fixed-Term Contract
The Leys Residential Care Home, Alvechurch
We are seeking an experienced Senior Night Care Assistant to join our team on a six-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.
This position is for approximately 35–40 hours per week, working 12-hour night shifts, including weekends.
Pay
Starting from £13.22 per hour, with the final rate dependent on qualifications and experience.
Essential requirements
Applicants must:
- Be currently working within the adult social care sector
- Have previous management, supervisory or team-leading experience
- Hold a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care
- Have completed the Care Certificate
- Have current medication-administration training and practical experience
- Have experience working in a residential care environment
- Hold a full driving licence and be able to drive
- Be willing and available to work weekends
- Have strong leadership, communication and record-keeping skills
- Have an existing right to work in the UK
Main responsibilities
- Leading and supervising the night-care team
- Administering medication safely and accurately
- Supporting residents with personal care and their night-time routines
- Responding appropriately to emergencies or changes in residents’ needs
- Completing care records, checks and handovers accurately
- Ensuring residents’ dignity, comfort and safety throughout the night
- Reporting concerns promptly to the management team
- Maintaining a calm, safe and homely environment

Contract: Six-month fixed-term contract – maternity cover
