West Coast South: Keeping Britain Moving ¿
Stretching from Crewe to London Euston, West Coast South is part of Europe's busiest mixed-use railway-moving millions of passengers and 10% of the UK's freight each year. With over 1,000 miles of track and 64 stations, it's a vital link between major cities and local communities.
As part of the North West & Central region , we serve 1.3 million passengers daily and move 700,000 tonnes of freight weekly-covering a quarter of the national network.
If you're looking for a role where you can make a real impact on the safety, quality and delivery of railway infrastructure projects, West Coast South is the place to be. Working closely with Project Managers, Development Managers and contractors, you'll play a key role in ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards, while maintaining compliance with Network Rail standards, legislation and industry best practice.
This is a hands-on role with significant site presence, giving you the opportunity to influence project outcomes, build strong relationships across teams, and champion excellence in health, safety, quality, environment and workmanship. You'll be at the heart of project delivery, monitoring progress, resolving issues, supporting investigations and helping to keep the railway moving for passengers and freight customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all site activities comply with Network Rail standards, regulations and legislation.
- Review contractor method statements and site-specific risk assessments.
- Coordinate access, possessions, worksites and storage arrangements with key stakeholders.
- Carry out regular site inspections to monitor quality, progress and contractor performance.
- Identify, manage and close out non-conformances and remedial actions.
- Inspect completed works and coordinate any follow-up actions required.
- Lead regular engagement with contractors to maintain high standards of workmanship and HSQE performance.
- Monitor contractor competence and site management throughout project delivery.
- Support accident and incident investigations and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
- Maintain accurate site records, diaries and documentation.
- Provide functional support to Development Managers and Project Managers.
- Build strong working relationships to drive safe, efficient and successful project delivery.
Additional Role Requirements:
This role will be based out of The Quadrant: MK, with a requirement for travel.
