Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Timber Framer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing timber frameworks for various building projects. This role requires a strong understanding of traditional and modern carpentry techniques, as well as experience with specialised joinery and fabrication methods. The Timber Framer will work closely with project managers and other tradespeople to ensure precise assembly and high-quality craftsmanship. A passion for timber construction and attention to detail are essential to excel in this position.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate timber components according to detailed plans and specifications using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment
- Assemble timber frameworks on-site or in workshops, ensuring accurate joinery and structural integrity
- Operate a variety of tools including saws, chisels, drills, and other carpentry equipment
- Install timber structures such as roofs, arches, trusses, and decorative features with precision
- Perform heavy lifting safely to manoeuvre large timber sections into position
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace adhering to health and safety standards
- Collaborate with other tradespeople to ensure timely project delivery and quality standards are met
Qualifications
- Proven experience in fabrication, assembly, and carpentry within the construction or timber framing industry
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and joinery techniques specific to timber framing
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently over extended periods
- Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail and precision in craftsmanship
- Physical fitness suitable for demanding manual labour tasks across multiple sites
- Relevant qualifications or apprenticeships in carpentry or related trades are preferred but not essential
- Valid health & safety awareness with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment
