Job Description
Responsible to: Admin Team Leader. Admin/IT Manager
Job Purpose Statement:To provide administration support for the practice.
To record statistics and enter data onto the computer
Job Summary: To be responsible for scanning hospital correspondence onto patient’s clinical record & maintaining accurate coding
DUTIES OF THE POST:
- Scanning of correspondence to patient clinical records
- Clinical coding as required to keep patient records accurate
- Direct patient queries to appropriate member of staff
- To work closely with the Team Leader to ensure all data entered is consistent with the procedures and protocols
- To work with the other members of the team to develop the services we offer and improve quality where possible.

- Summarising medical records
- dealing with tasks & e mails
- Perform other duties as required
Special Requirements of the Post
You should have a good standard of written and spoken English language. Good communication skills are essential as is the continued ability to work under pressure as part of a team and sometimes individually. Continued accuracy, reliability, punctuality and flexibility are of prime importance. You must have the ability to deal with problems in a professional manner. You must be dedicated to your work and have the ability to provide a quality service. Attention to detail is essential for the well being of our patients. You should be self-motivated, organised and have the ability to prioritise your workload. You must understand and accept the need for strict confidentiality. You should have the ability to use your own judgement, resourcefulness and above all, common sense.
You will be expected to be flexible with your working hours. Specifically, you may be required to work extra hours to cover the absence of colleagues arising from holiday, sickness or other causes.

Skills Required
Applicants should ideally have experience of General Office Duties and working within a team (within the NHS/S1 preferably). Training is available in office and reception duties aligned with General Practice working. Experience of working in an organisation with frequent changes in systems is a vital skill for working in the ‘Modern NHS’. Keyboard skills are preferred but an ability to work with computers is essential.
Forest Medical Group presently consists of Warren Lane Surgery & New Lubbesthorpe Health Centre approx. 5 mins apart driving. You may be asked to work at either site but predominately at Warren Lane.
Pay: £12.77-£13.48 per hour
