This is a 3-month contract position with a local authority, offering a pay rate of £22.54 - £24.78 per hour under an umbrella arrangement. The Housing Officer plays a crucial role in providing a comprehensive housing management service to council tenants. The position is pivotal in ensuring excellent customer service and supporting tenancy sustainment. The officer will manage tenancies, resolve disputes, assist residents, and collaborate with both internal teams and external partners to achieve the Council’s housing goals and deliver a high-quality, customer-centric service.
Responsibilities

Administer a complete housing management service for general needs tenants.

Offer advice and support to tenants and the public through home visits, phone, email, and in-person interactions.

Assist new tenants during the onboarding process, including conducting settling-in visits.

Handle tenancy-related issues such as transfers, mutual exchanges, succession, and tenancy reviews.

Investigate breaches of tenancy conditions and implement appropriate enforcement actions, including initiating legal proceedings when necessary.
Requirements:
Essential Experience Required-
At least 2 years of experience in a customer-focused environment, preferably within housing or a related sector.

Proven experience in direct public interaction, including managing sensitive or complex situations.

Essential Qualifications Required

Possession of a full UK driving licence.

Progress towards or possession of a qualification with the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) or equivalent is desirable.

Holding a CSCS Card is desirable.
Additional Information

Working hours are 37 hours per week.

A basic DBS check is required.

The work schedule follows a bi-weekly pattern, with hours from 9 am to 5 pm, four days in the office and one day remote.

The position is based at Rugby Town Hall.

Candidates must be drivers with access to a car and have or be able to obtain business insurance for driving purposes.
