Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various aspects of carpentry and construction, demonstrating proficiency in fabrication, assembly, and the use of hand and power tools. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, including military, residential, commercial and school projects. The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering high-quality craftsmanship while adhering to safety standards and project deadlines.
Duties
- Construct, install, and repair structures, working on your own initiative.
- Perform fabrication and assembly of components according to technical drawings and specifications
- Use hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers, and screwdrivers effectively and safely
- Operate power tools including drills, saws, grinders, and sanders to complete tasks efficiently
- Carry out roofing tasks including installation and repairs with attention to detail
- Be competent on most aspects of carpentry, including washroom cubicle panels, hygienic wall cladding to name a few.
- Lift heavy materials safely and manage materials handling on-site
- Collaborate with team members to ensure project timelines are met while maintaining safety protocols
Skills
- Proven experience in carpentry, joinery, and general construction practices
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools essential for various construction tasks
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Strong understanding of construction safety standards and procedures
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately
- Good communication skills to collaborate effectively within a team environment

Pay: £16.00-£22.00 per hour
