We are looking to appoint an IMM Production Machine Operative to join our team, working permanent night shifts. This role involves the safe and efficient operation of rubber injection moulding machines, ensuring products are manufactured to the required quality standards and in line with customer demand.
Working Hours & Pay
Permanent Night Shift (total 36.5 hours p/week):
- Monday to Thursday - 22:00 - 06:00 (with 30-minute unpaid break)
- Friday - 20:00 - 03:00 (with 30-minute unpaid break)
£13.67 p/hour plus 28% shift allowance
Main responsibilities:
- Safe and efficient operation of the rubber injection moulding machines (IMM).
- Manufacturing of rubber products ensuring consistently high quality throughout.
- Works order monitoring and the logging of units produced per shift.
- Tracking and part tracking of works orders.
- Work to ISO 9001 processes, recording all data on works orders & job sheets, using rubber batch numbers in order, hardness tests on rubber parts for data log, compression set tests for data log.
- Trim all products to the required standard, checking for imperfections, then box into required quantities.
- Monitoring of machine downtime using connected technologies.
- Movement of EPDM from stores to the manufacturing area.
- Movement of finished goods to the raw material store once tracked.
- Use of Counterbalance FLT and Pedestrian Stacker (as and when trained).
- Keep the machines clean and in good condition, maintaining some small service exercises.
Person specification:
Essential:
- Must be reliable, trustworthy and able to work independently, managing workload with minimal supervision
- Takes ownership of tasks and follows them through to completion.
- Uses initiative to identify, resolve and appropriately escalate issues when required.
- Comfortable using basic IT systems to record production and downtime data
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work at pace whilst maintaining high levels of accuracy
- Quality conscious with a ‘right first time’ mentality
- Strong commitment to safe working practices – following company procedures at all times
Desirable
- Previous experience working on Injection Moulding Machines
- Previous experience working night shifts
- FLT Counterbalance licence
