Responsibilities
- Safely operate telehandlers to lift, transport, and position materials at various heights and distances on construction sites or warehouses
- Conduct routine inspections of the telehandler to ensure optimal functioning and report any mechanical issues promptly
- Assist with loading and unloading materials using appropriate attachments such as forks or buckets
- Coordinate with site managers and other equipment operators to execute tasks efficiently while adhering to safety protocols
- Maintain accurate logs of daily operations, inspections, and maintenance activities
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues and perform basic repairs when necessary
- Support other heavy machinery operations like excavators when required, ensuring seamless workflow across equipment types
Experience
- Proven experience operating telehandlers in a commercial or construction environment
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or equivalent for operating heavy machinery on job sites
- Strong mechanical knowledge to perform routine maintenance and identify potential issues early
- Familiarity with excavators and their operational requirements is a plus
- Knowledge of safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and site protocols
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining focus and safety awareness
