Job Description
We are currently recruiting a Lunchtime Assistant to support the nursery rooms during the children’s mealtime routines. Your role can involve nap time, outdoor play, or stimulating activities. Your duties will vary from helping with hygiene routines, encouraging positive and independent eating habits as well as ensuring their environment is clean, tidy, and safe. We are looking for someone who has a passion for working with children and is sensitive to their needs. Experience with children under 5 years old is essential. Our Lunchtime Assistant contract will be 15 hours per week, 51 weeks per year. The hours of this role is 11am – 2pm, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring the children are safe, happy, and stimulated
- Ensuring that you are role model for the children
- Supporting room leaders and nursery management team in the overall operations of the nursery
- Helping to identify and support any children with additional needs and ensure that any agreed actions are fulfilled
- Communicating information to children using play
- Keeping records
- Assisting and encouraging the children to eat their lunchtime meal.
- Preparing the children for their naps and monitoring them whilst they sleep following safer sleep procedures
- Incorporating Health & Safety measures for the children in the nursery environment.
Requirements
- Level 2/Level 3 in Childcare
- Excellent communication skills, including listening, with adults and children
- Interested in working with children and Aware of child protection and safeguarding
- Health and safety conscious
- Good observations skills
- Must be caring and kind and imaginative
Job Types: Permanent, Part-time Schedule:
- Monday to Friday 11am - 2pm
