The Role
We are seeking a dedicated, nurturing and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant (TA2b) to join our team.
This is a varied and rewarding role which includes:
- Supporting learning in Key Stage 1 (mornings)
- Being part of our PLAY Team, supporting high-quality lunchtime provision
- Working within our SEND enhanced provision space, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs alongside our SENDCo and experienced staff
As part of our commitment to OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning), lunchtimes at Middleforth are vibrant, purposeful and centred around childrens development. This role is key to ensuring that playtimes are inclusive, engaging and build childrens social skills, creativity and wellbeing.

Essential Qualifications
NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Supporting Teaching & Learning
Desirable Qualifications
Essential Experience
- Experience working with children in KS1 and/or SEND
- A nurturing, patient and empathetic approach
- Strong commitment to building positive relationships with children
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Flexible, reflective and proactive approach to supporting learning
- Understanding of safeguarding and commitment to child welfare
Understanding of early reading and phonics.

Desirable Experience
- Experience working within a SEND provision or with children with complex needs
- Knowledge of relational approaches / trauma-informed practice
Experience supporting pupils with communication, sensory or emotional needs
